Holidaying close to home and looking for UK travel insurance? Exploring all that the UK has to offer (and not facing an international flight first) can be the perfect break. Whether you’re going to Cardiff, Edinburgh or Jersey, we offer UK travel insurance for trips in the UK, as well as the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
All our policies include cover for cancellation of your holiday or your belongings being stolen. Plus, you can enjoy protection for over 100 activities as standard.
What is UK travel insurance and do you need it?
UK travel insurance has a whole range of benefits for your holiday. Although it’s not compulsory to get travel insurance for UK holidays, mishaps can happen, and it can offer you protection if something goes wrong. This means you don’t face high costs from your own pocket should issues come up during your trip.
While the UK is generally a safe country, accidents still happen and crime can occur. For example, there were 2.7 million reported incidents of theft in 2023 and around 106,000 road collisions in 2022. It makes sense to make sure you’re fully protected, even for a domestic holiday.
Many situations are covered with a UK travel insurance policy, including:
- Trips to the UK and more: Our UK travel insurance policies cover holidays in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. This means you can enjoy trips to more places while knowing you’re covered if anything goes wrong
- Cancellation or cutting short your holiday: If you have to cancel your trip because of a family bereavement, jury duty, being made redundant or certain other reasons outside of your control
- Personal belongings: Cover for if your belongings are damaged, destroyed, lost or stolen. If you’re taking away anything particularly valuable, take a look at our gadgets and valuables add on cover
- Cover for personal accident, liability and legal expenses: No one likes to think about an accident happening on holiday. Our UK travel insurance policies can help with certain costs if one does
- Policies for a wide range of trips and eventualities: We can provide extra cover for activities such as extreme sports or business trips. As well as policies that cover a whole family or group going away together. If you’re looking for cheap travel insurance for UK trips, we have a range of cover levels with different amounts of cover and excess. And we have no upper age limit, as we believe everyone deserves to enjoy a trip away
Always make sure you read our policy wording to see the full terms and conditions and what is and isn’t included.

Find out about our optional add ons for activities like extreme sports and golf.

Remember, UK travel insurance will not cover you for emergency medical care if you’re holidaying somewhere that you are a resident.
